BookSmiles would like to thank the Union County Education Association for their involvement and sponsorship. The UCEA donated 300 children's books to BookSmiles at the 2023 NJEA Convention in Atlantic City last month and will be presenting BookSmiles with a $1,000 check.
Annice Benamy met Larry at the 2022 NJEA Convention, where she learned about BookSmiles. They found out that they went to the same Jewish summer camp in Warwick, NY, and know many of the same youth group folks. Annice is the Public Relations Chair for UCEA. She wrote their first sponsorship to BookSmiles in 2022. With that, she included a 2-month Book Drive, where UCEA would collect books from Union County community members. By January, they collected over 4,000 books. Larry went to their January meeting with the BookSmiles truck to talk about BookSmiles and receive the sponsorship check. Annice has been to the BookSmiles warehouse 3 times and has another visit scheduled in the Spring. UCEA proudly supports and honors the work of BookSmiles and everyone involved in the organization.
