Dozens upon dozens of children dove into the boxes we had set up during Lindenwold Day 2017. I couldn't have done it without the support of fantastic kids from my freshman classes who volunteered significant time to sort the books and distribute them!
We put over 700 books directly into the hands of appreciative parents and children today! This is one of the missions of BookSmiles: to enable high school and middle school students to be part of a movement that spreads literacy, a movement that will enable ALL children in Lindenwold and other towns in Camden Country to build libraries in their homes!

How wonderful it was today to see videos and pictures of children from Woodlynne Elementary School in Camden receiving books given by BookSmiles at their back-to-school event. Thank you Dee Frazier for putting it all together!
It was a beautiful thing last night to return to Carusi Middle School's back-to-school night, this time not as a parent but as a guy representing BookSmiles. What a supportive staff and what great kids who helped collect from parents walking in with armfuls of books!
We gathered 450 books and the momentum builds to help all children, including babies, start and build their own personal libraries. The Carusi drive continues for the next week! Bring them in! |
